Richard Gassert DCDoctor of Chiropractic

Originally from Cape Town, Richard has been setted in the UK for more than 20 years.

He arrived in Scotland in 2000, having graduated from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic (AECC), Bournemouth following 5 years’ full-time study. After working as an associate chiropractor in well-established practices in Melrose, Scottish Borders and Haymarket, Edinburgh; he set up the Bruntsfield Chiropractic Clinic in 2010.

As a natural athlete (relatively proficient at many sports); studying chiropractic has enabled him to combine his interest in physical fitness with an in-depth knowledge of how the body self-heals and functions best and use this to make a difference to his patients.

He is particularly interested in the treatment and rehabilitation of long-term chronic conditions through treatment, corrective posture, ergonomics, movement and exercise programmes. This is reflected in his continuing professional development which he chooses to undertake with highly regarded, progressive chiropractors from around the world along with specialists from other disciplines, including the medical profession.

With more than 10,000 hours’ post qualification experience (and counting …), Richard is dedicated to helping his patients on the road to rehabilitation; to regaining strength and flexibility, so that they may eventually reach and maintain optimal health.

Richard is married and enjoys time out with his labradoodle, Louis. Often they may be observed together in their natural habitat – running, walking and hurpling in the hills of Edinburgh and surrounds.
