SPECIAL MEASURES DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

When attending the Clinic for treatment your health and safety is a priority. Chiropractic treatment necessarily takes place in close proximity to the practitioner.  Our aim is to reduce time in close proximity, so practitioners will make use of appropriate personal protective equipment any pre-treatment discussion, history-taking and certain clinical tests will be conducted in accordance with social distancing rules, best practice advice from the British Chiropractic Association (BCA) and Government guidance. To minimise the risk of becoming infected and prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus as far as reasonably possible, your appointment will be conducted applying the following special measures:

1. Staff Health – all practitioners monitor themselves daily for symptoms of COVID-19 including testing their temperature.

Between appointments, all staff wash their hands thoroughly with soapy water (more effective than hand gel) and change their gloves.

Practitioners are following Government guidelines on social distancing when not at work. If they believe they might have been in contact with an infected person, they will self-isolate and not attend the Clinic.

2. Premises – all surfaces in the Clinic which might be touched by patients are thoroughly cleaned, using soapy water/an alcohol solution between appointments.  This includes chairs, desks, card machines, pens, door handles and doorbells.

Hand soap and sanitiser is available for everyone’s use.

All floors are mopped with soapy water at least once a day.

The waiting area chairs are spaced at least 1.5m apart – sofas are not in use.

We ask patients to arrive 5 minutes before the allocated time of their appointment.

Appointments are interspaced with a suitable time gap in order to minimise cross-contamination and to allow time for disinfection.

3. Pre-Appointment Screening: all patients are screened by completing and signing a COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire to minimise the risk from an infected person. Alternately, forms are available at reception to be completed on arrival.

PLEASE NOTE: IF ANY PATIENT DISPLAYS ANY SYMPTOMS THEY WILL NOT BE TREATED; BUT REQUESTED TO SELF-ISOLATE AND ARRANGE A TEST FOR COVID-19.

4. Patients: in order to minimise contact with surfaces in the Clinic, patients are requested to:

  • sanitise their hands on arrival
  • wear face masks while attending the Clinic (OPTIONAL)
  • bring their own clean towel to lay on the plinth
  • not to wear jewellery
  • put away mobile phones

5. Appointment Pathway for Patients:

On arrival please ring the doorbell and you will be met at the front door – do arrive as close to your designated time of appointment as possible – ideally 5 minutes before.

Only one patient will be permitted in the Clinic at a time.

Please bring your duly completed and signed Screening Questionnaire and Consent to Treatment Form – see No. 3 above.

Patients’ body temperature may be checked with an infra-red thermometer.

Patients are requested to sanitise hands at the front doorway on entry to the Clinic, using hand-soap/hand sanitiser provided.

Patients are requested to sanitise hands again following their appointment on exiting the Clinic.
